My blog is a way for me to share my ideas, things I've learned and a journey into the Hawkinson life as we start and grow our small town homestead!
My husband, Zach, and I moved into a 140+ year old home on the edge of a small town one year ago with our 3 young children. We only have one acre of land but our goal is to one day be more self sufficient. My husband and I have always dreamed of living close to nature, enjoying a simpler life and raising children. I might of started the ideas of planting and tending to a large garden, raising chickens and canning enough food for the winter but Zach has always supported every wild idea and helps me keep the goals moving.
