Apricot Pepper Jelly
Sweet and spicy jelly perfect for covering cream cheese. During pepper season, I try to use up a lot of peppers in jellies. Some jellies will be spicier than others, substituting banana peppers for jalapenos or habaneros. While also mixing up some colors with onions and bell peppers. Use what you like or have on hand but stay consistent to the amount of pepper, onion and fruit quantities to have the right balance or acid in the jellies. This recipe is for apricot pepper jelly using banana peppers, red onion and green bell peppers. Cut dried apricots into small 1/4th inch size pieces. Place apricot pieces into a large heavy…

Yeast Cinnamon Rolls with hard red wheat
Soft and sweet yeast cinnamon rolls made with hard red wheat. The yeast makes them fast rising while the hard red wheat is freshly milled providing extra nutrition. These yeast cinnamon rolls are delicious with either butter cream or cream cheese frosting. I make these the night before so they are ready for early morning risers. I have been milling my own wheat for awhile now. When I found out about the chemicals and toxins in the store bought flour, I knew I had to make a big change. Thankfully the process of milling flour is easy. Only one more step was added to my baking steps. Freshly milled flour…

Honey, Oatmeal and Chocolate Chip Bars
I like having a bar that is easy to make and enjoyed by the kids. One of my daughters doesn't care for peanut butter in her bars. Just a hint of peanut butter and she will know. I didn't see many options online that didn't have peanut butter, so with a lot of experimenting, I finally figured out how to make what she was looking for. It is mostly oatmeal but on the sweeter side. When muffins and waffles are not available for breakfast, these honey, oatmeal and chocolate chip bars are easy to make. They are chewy chocolate molasses flavored with a slight crisp crunch from rice cereal. Measure…

Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls
Sweet, savory sourdough cinnamon rolls are a delicious way to start your day. Cream cheese frosting or buttercream adds even more sweetness on top of soft chewy rolls. Our family tradition is to have sourdough cinnamon rolls Christmas morning. Although any time is a good time to eat this sweet treat. Sourdough is a type of bread that is risen with sourdough starter instead of store bought yeast. Sourdough has wild yeast and good bacteria to promote gut health and is easier to digest than traditional bread. Bread made from instant yeast usually rises in a few hours, while sourdough bread is traditionally risen for a longer time and has…

Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins
These mini chocolate chip muffins are small, fluffy and sweet. When I make mini chocolate chip muffins, the plate is gone within hours. I love the sweet little bite size muffins. My kids love them too. I use freshly milled soft wheat flour, that promotes brain and body health. Plus, freshly milled flour keeps those kids fuller for longer. I used to go buy pre-packaged mini muffins to-go. It was an easy fast breakfast or snack for my girls on the run. After awhile though, the price started going up and the ingredient list got longer. I knew how to make regular and jumbo muffins but they always made a…

Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
These delicious cookies are thick and chewy with a rich molasses flavor. Every time I go over to my relatives, they request these thick and chewy chocolate chip cookies. My whole family finds it hard to resist these amazing goodies. When I make cookies, it is usually the same day I travel or else they seem to disappear before I bring them to my destination. If you can make them last, the cookies do keep well for a few days in an air tight container. You can also freeze the cookies for later. I love all kinds of cookies. Although, these chewy chocolate chip cookies are my favorite and usual…
